.1/ Making It Happen For Myself.
My hope for Upleveled Wellness—as I step into this journey of empowering others—is to be that friend, mentor, or cheerleader who helps you go after the life of your dreams. To remind you that you can “Make It Happen For Yourself.”
Throughout our brand, you might notice phrases like “Making It Happen For Myself” or “Make It Happen For Yourself” popping up often—and wonder what that even means or why we say it so much. I wanted to share a little backstory on why that phrase has been so influential in my life and why it’s at the heart of Upleveled Wellness.
If you know me, you know I totally stole a phrase John Mayer said during a live concert and made it my entire personality. The phrase? “I made it happen for myself.”
In his set, he talks about how, in our twenties, we love being able to say we made things happen on our own—and how validating it is to know that our success came from our own will and determination.
When I heard that in my early twenties, I ran with it. It made me feel so empowered to go after the things I wanted. It helped me lean into myself. Even when I didn’t know how I’d make something happen, I trusted that if I set my mind to it, I’d figure it out. That quote became my mantra.
In my twenties, I was fearless. Anything I set out to do—I did. Sometimes it came easily, and sometimes it took everything I had. That mindset made me bold when facing challenges, setbacks, or rejection. It helped me go after big life goals, and it still carries me through my thirties, a whole decade later.
What I’ve learned over the years—and what I want to share with you—is that being able to say you accomplished something all on your own is a really empowering thing. But what’s even more powerful is having people around you who believe in you, challenge you, and speak your name in rooms you’re not even in.
I’ve been incredibly lucky to have amazing friends, teachers, mentors, and cheerleaders in my corner. But there are moments when it’s just you versus you. And when you cross that finish line, you should be so proud of what you made happen.
My hope for Upleveled Wellness—as I step into this journey of empowering others—is to be that friend, mentor, or cheerleader who helps you go after the life of your dreams. To remind you that you can “Make It Happen For Yourself.”
I hope to inspire you through stories of my wins, my failures, and the lessons in between. Stay tuned for more.
